The different laws and regulations published in the last decade of the 20th century on the prevention of occupational risks, including aspects of the prevention of psychosocial risks, are considered to establish rights for employees in terms of protecting their security and promoting their health. Psychosocial risks include factors relating to the effects of employment organisation, pressure, harassment, job security and others affecting motivation, stress, and the mental health of employees as well as their physical health. At the same time, it affects production and personal and organisational costs. Knowing the psycho-social aspects that negatively affect health in occupational contexts affects the development of procedures to prevent associated risks. So, the prevention of psychosocial risks has becomes a speciality that all senior risk prevention officers must have. In the different chapters of this manual, the function and repercussions of stress and emotions in occupational environments and factors that have important effects on occupational and personal health are described. The book offers diverse control and intervention strategies to help train future prevention officers.
