Spanish Civil War and post-war years in Vistabella and other inland villages of Castellón were specially hard and are the scene of some of the most hidden episodes of our recent past. The first years of Franco regime meant a worsening of life conditions of population with feeding difficulties and social and ecnomical hardship.
All these facts have been gradually forgotten, without being studied conveniently, and without making a process of collective catharsis. So, this is the great merit of this book: bringing to light many happenings of those days, more less silenced.
