Between 1691 and 1793 the Valencian churches and palaces became supports for visual discourses as a result of a previous invention of iconographic content and types. Gaetano Giannotta analyzes in the book, with a profusion of images, the phenomenon diachronically, delving into the personalities who thought these messages, the different artistic techniques and the meaning they acquired for the observers of the time. A fundamental work for understanding the history of art in Valencia and its contribution to the international Baroque.
