Spanish universities have been working on their social responsibility for a long time, offering a response to society – to its stakeholders – on the impacts generated within them in teaching, research, and the renewal of their social commitment. This volume includes the reflections and proposals laid out at the 2nd Conference on University Social Responsibility (USR) and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) held at the Universitat Jaume I on 29 and 30 November 2017 under the title “A University Design for Social Responsibility”. The first part includes the contributions on the different strategies for institutionalisation of USR, whilst the second part focuses on the innovations emerging to promote more responsible research and innovation.
