The Spanish monarchy’s system of fleets and land routes formed an extensive communication network between Europe, through the Iberian Peninsula and the American viceroyalties, and the Pacific. This web of routes allowed the transfer of artistic and cultural models between the American viceroyalties and the monarchy’s Asian territories. This volume deals with these transfers using numerous research studies in the fields of art history, history and literature carried out at institutions around the world and offering a global view of the Latin American cultural phenomenon.
