The equality of women and men, in spite of being a universal legal principle in international and national standards that is at the basis of democratic systems, is difficult to achieve. For that reason, there is a widespread consensus on the need to encourage transverse and positive actions in all areas. In this context, among other measures, the legal binding nature of creating equality in every context of life in organisations with more than 250 workers (Organic law 3/2007 for the effective equality of both women and men) emerged, and in the specific case of the Spanish universities, to consider them part of its organisational structure as established in the twelfth additional regulation of the Organic law 4/2007, April 12th, of universities. In this publication the Universitat Jaume I presents the research and teaching that are carried out in this area in the above mentioned university by final-degree and master projects, doctoral theses, investigation projects and teaching activity.
