The figure of James I of Aragon (1208-1276) as a king-legislator has always been a source of interest to Vicente García Edo.
For three decades, he has compiled individual documents from his Chancellery, from a wide variety of sources. This is the reason why he gave the name "Extravagant" to the collection now published. It consists of an introductory study, the transcription of 619 documents, many of them previously unpublished, and indexes.

This publication provides many documents and much new information compared to those published so far on this figure, and just as the 750th anniversary of his death is approaching.
